IMPORTANT!!! IDENTIFYING AND ELIMINATING THE CAUSE OF THE PREVIOUS TURBOCHARGER FAILURE IS NECESSARY FOR THE PROPER OPERATION OF THE NEWLY PURCHASED TURBO. FAILURE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE MAY RESULT IN THE NEW TURBOCHARGER BEING DAMAGED AGAIN!
A turbocharger requires a balance between the exhaust and intake systems, so we have several urgent recommendations that should be followed before installing the turbo.
Turbocharger Installation Instructions (pdf)
Turbo installation:
- Ensure the turbocharger fits your vehicle.
- Clean the intake, exhaust, and oil lines.
- Replace the oil and filters as per the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Fill the turbocharger with oil and manually rotate the rotor.
- Install the turbocharger, connect the lines, and ensure a proper seal.
- Start the engine at idle, check oil pressure, and ensure no leaks.
Is there any way to "extend the life of your turbocharger"?
Yes! By following these recommendations, you won’t have any issues with your turbo:
- Regular oil changes – Use high-quality oil as recommended by the manufacturer and change it on time.
- Maintain a clean DPF filter – A clogged DPF filter often leads to leaks on the hot side of the turbocharger and cracks in the turbine housing.
- Let the turbo cool down – After a long trip, cool your engine by letting it idle for a while, especially after highway driving.
- Keep the systems clean – Ensure the intake, exhaust, and cooling systems, as well as air filters, are clean.
- Ensure proper lubrication – Keep the oil lines clean and maintain the correct oil pressure.
