A constantly open EGR valve increases the risk of clogging the intake manifold, catalytic converter, and soot filter, which negatively affects the combustion system's operation.
The average lifespan of an EGR valve is about 150,000 kilometers, but some factors can shorten it, including:

• the condition of the fuel system and ignition system;
• the use of low-quality fuel and oil.
